DEMOCRATIC PARTY OF BENTON COUNTY
The Democratic Party of Benton County (formerly called the Benton County Democratic Central Committee) and the Benton County Dems (formerly called Benton County Democrats) are separate and distinct organizations.
The Benton County Dems is a separate organization that supports the goals of the Democratic Party, but is not a part of the Democratic Party or the Democratic Party of Arkansas.
The Democratic Party of Benton County (DP of BC) is the official extension of the Democratic Party of Arkansas for Benton County.
The DP of BC appoints/elects one of the three County Election Commissioners, elects members to the Democratic State Committee at the County Democratic Convention, recommends appointees for state positions that the Governor fills, and works to raise money for candidates as well as setting county filing fees for elections.
Members of Benton County Dems who are registered voters in Benton County are encouraged to consider also becoming a member of the Democratic Party of Benton County.
The officers of the Democratic Party of Benton County serve for two years with terms beginning at the start of odd-numbered years.
Membership filing fees for the Democratic Party of Benton Country are $20 for two years, of which $5 goes to the DPA. To be eligible for membership you must be a registered voter in Benton County, Arkansas. To join the DP of BC, fill out a membership form and submit the filing fee at their next meeting.
